Fashion Editorial: Still Figure

Sharing with y'all a quick post about one of the most memorable fashion editorials my classmates and I did for our Fashion Styling class under Mr. Levenson Rodriguez in SoFA (School of Fashion and the Arts).

The challenge we had for this school project was to style the mannequin and create a fashion editorial out of a boring still life figure. What our group (Team Sist as we fondly call ourselves) thought of doing was a romance-themed editorial making the mannequin the focal point and the lady love of two Romeos battling for her affection. But we didn't want it to be too cheesy or a literal love triangle, so we came up with a not so obvious "affair" between the mannequin and the two male models. We were trying to show a "secret blooming love" of the two guys (who happen to be the best of friends) for the dummy but the two guys are fighting their feelings for the sake of their friendship. Too dramatic, eh?

We invited established commercial and print model, Cris Lomotan (you might recognize him from various commercials he did and one for a laundry powder currently playing every now and then in the local boob tube) and up and coming model, Martin Reyes (former basketball player from DLSU) of Mercator Modeling Agency to be the Romeos of our Belle and these two gamely said YES for free!!! They eventually became our friends after the shoot. Talented fashion photographer, Raymond Cauilan captured the magic and romance of the said editorial.

Clothes from H&M Philippines (thanks to Danica Familiara for letting me do last-minute pulls at the H&M showroom!) and designer Edmir Lagui. Grooming by Lloyd Gumba and shot at Studio Central Photography studio.

Here's some behind the scenes during our shoot:

Will be posting more shoots we did for our school projects and also some personal styling works I've done a couple of months ago soonest! Thank you for taking time to read this post!

Love lots,
